Step 1: Stop the process from Task Manager.

Click on Start > input “taskmgr” into the search box to open Task Manager > Processes > find RevContent and select End process.

Step 2: Remove suspicious programs from Control Panel.

Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs > select RevContent and remove it.

Step 3: Remove suspicious extensions from browsers.

From IE:

1. Tools > Manager add-ons > Extension

2. Find the extensions and disable it

From Google Chrome:

1. Customize and control Google Chrome > More Tools > Extensions

2. Select the extensions and disable it

From Mozilla Firefox:

1. Open menu > Add-ons > Extensions

2. Find the extensions and remove it.

Step 4: Reset browser homepage.

From IE:

Tools > Internet options > General > Delete

From Google Chrome:

Customize and control Google chrome > Settings > select Set page

From Mozilla Firefox:

Open menu > Options > General > find Home Page and reset it

Step 5:  Clear browsing history.

From Internet Explore:

1.  Click Tools then Internet option.

2.  Find General and select Delete.

3.  Select “Temporary Internet files and website files” “Cookies and website date” “History”, then click Delete.

From Google Chrome:

1.  Click Customize and control Google Chrome then More tools.

2.  Select “Browsing history” “Download history” and “Cookies and other sites and plugin data”, and then click Clear browsing data.

From Mozilla Firefox:

1.  Click Tools, then Option.

2.  Find Privacy, and select “Clear recent history” and “remove individual cookies”. Then click OK.

Step 6: Start Registry and delete relevant files.

1.  Windows + R > input “regedit” to open Registry.

2.  Delete the infected as well as suspicious (activated lately) files under the roots below.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Step 7: Restart your computer for all modification to take effect.
